OGC
As a member of the Open Geospatial Consortium on the Associate Member level Mapsolute implements standardized spatial Web services and supports the advancement of international standards. The Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc (OGC) is an international industry consortium of 317 companies, government agencies and universities participating in a consensus process to develop publicly available interface specifications. OpenGIS® Specifications support interoperable solutions that "geo-enable" the Web, wireless and location-based services, and mainstream IT.The specifications empower technology developers to make complex spatial information and services accessible and useful with all kinds of applications. Mapsolute's focus on Web mapping applications, online routing, and location based services will be enhanced by the implementation of standardized interfaces. The focus in 2006 is on the implementation of the Web Map Service (WMS) interface specification for Mapsolute's online applications. This implementation allows the integration of external resources adhering to the already well established WMS specification in Mapsolute's software products. MapTP Web Map Server implements Web Map Service 1.1.1 and was accepted by the OGC in September 2006.
Other activities include the advancement of WMS through participation in the WMS 1.4 Revision Working Group and the participation in the Web Processing Service (WPS) Revision Working Group.
